Each Spring Ingram’s has the pleasure of researching and announcing the winners of our Heroes in Healthcare annual awards. Chosen because they “exemplify patient-based healthcare,” the twenty-one honorees represented the full spectrum of those who impact the patient—administrators, professional services, registered nurses, auxiliary staff, volunteers and physicians alike. Each honoree and their guests shared this memorable morning recognizing the dedication and accomplishments of these ordinary people who perform extraordinary acts of compassion in the important field of health care. This sentiment was punctuated by the keynote speaker Ed Hearn, formerly pitcher of the Royals and World Champion New York Mets. Hearn spoke of the challenges he faced when transitioning from good health to being faced with several life-threatening illnesses. Hearn inspired the attendees as did Ingram’s Executive Editor Jack Cashill we served as emcee. |
