A Salute to Philanthropy

Dear Friends,

Our job at Ingram’s, as we see it, is to provide the kind of forum that changes a marketplace into a meeting hall, a metropolitan area into a community.  To accomplish this, we are committed to listen intently, speak honestly and act with responsibility.

And no series of stories that we communicate pleases us more than our annual philanthropy edition.  For us this holiday issue is our favorite one.

Soon we will ring-in a new year and celebrate the beginning of our fifth year of publishing Ingram’s.  We enjoy producing the magazine as we intend it to reflect the personality of our community.  As all small business people know, our job is not an easy one.  But each month our small assembly of staffers somehow manage to produce the highest quality publication in Kansas City, and we are proud of them.

We believe that well-crafted, targeted communications will always be among the best tools an organization can use to accomplish its marketing objectives.  We’ve worked very hard to earn the respect of the area’s influential readers who spend nearly two hours each month enjoying their copy of Ingram’s. These 100,000 monthly readers earn incomes of more than $171,000 and spend a good deal of it and their corporate revenues as well with our advertisers.

These same people, as you will see in this issue, also dedicate much of their time and resources to those in need in our community. We are grateful to them all and wish them continued prosperity.

Our readers can be astonishingly generous.  It is for this reason that we publish at least four articles each month on businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals who make a positive difference in our community. We likewise dedicate our December edition to the subject of philanthropic giving and volunteerism.  This year, we’re delighted to dedicate our philanthropy edition to the “Kansas City Family” the heart and soul of this community.

This year we have selected as local heroes not individuals but couples, all of them exceptional people.  The family we have profiled is the truly inspiring   Miller clan.  They have deep and expanding roots in this region and represent one of the most giving families we know.

We hope you’ll take the time to read each segment of this annual philanthropy edition. Ingram’s enjoys the highest reader profile rating of any North American business magazine, business journal or daily newspaper. We appreciate your support, and we hope you will put Ingram’s on the plan in 2001. We could  not produce this publication without your support.

Have a great holiday season and we look forward to serving you in the new year to come.

Our Seasons Best

Michelle & Joe Sweeny
