2006 MarketingAdvertising Community Looks Ahead The second day of February proved to be a lively time for a discussion of the key issues facing the advertising and marketing community in Kansas City. Some 20 leaders in this community gathered at the offices of Ingram’s Magazine in Kansas City’s Crossroads District for a provocative, first-time assembly sponsored by Barkley Evergreen & Partners and Nicholson Kovac. Chairing the event were Brian Brooker, CEO and chief creative officer of Barkley Evergreen & Partners, and Jim Radosevic, creative director of Nicholson Kovac. This assembly was part of Ingram’s Magazine’s ongoing effort to highlight issues of significance in Kansas City’s greater metropolitan area. And no industry in the area has gone unsung as long as its highly creative advertising and marketing industry. Although there was honest and animated talk about a range of issues, the group focused on the ability of Kansas City to capture a greater share of the nation’s—and the area’s—advertising and marketing dollars.
Challenges As a first question participants were asked what they saw as the major challenges in driving business to Kansas City, both local and national.
