Heroes in Healthcare | Class of 2007

The winners we selected exemplify patient-focused healthcare. Each story tells of personal sacrifices for the sake of the patient or hospital. Rather than profit, promotion or recognition, the needs of the patient guide these Heroes in Healthcare. They travel thousands of miles, stay up late, and give up their weekends and vacations without a second thought. They are not publicity-seekers; their efforts fulfill a personal goal of service to others. Often, they hope to remain unnoticed. From pediatric to end of life care, they recognize the importance of an immaculate hospital room, a local center with cutting-edge treatment, or a front desk staffed by a friendly volunteer. Administrators with life-long passions, nurses who stay past their shifts, doctors who travel overseas to care for the poorest of poor—these are Ingram’s Heroes in Healthcare.
