Builders Refreshingly Upbeat About Industry Future

On a torrentially wet February 5th morning, Super Tuesday, the leaders of greater Kansas City’s building and construction industry cast their ballots for a vigorous future.

Indeed, when questioned about their greatest challenge, many
participants expressed a concern about finding enough skilled workers to do the work already backlogged.

“We have a very aggressive growth pattern we’re seeing for our company locally and nationally,” said Paul Neidlein of Turner
Construction. “The biggest thing is finding not only the young
engineers and construction folks right out of school, but also the
experienced hires.” His was a common refrain.

Hosting this collegial Industry Outlook assembly, Ingram’s eighth annual such event for the building and construction industry, was Neighbors Construction Co. The assembly was held at the company’s beautiful new headquarters in Lenexa. Ably chairing the event was the company’s president, Roger Neighbors.
