Health Care Leaders Work to Interpret Obamacare

On a pleasant June afternoon, leaders from the various interdependent sectors of the health-care industry—providers, insurers, brokers, physicians, analysts—met at Ingram’s offices to hash out the future of health care under the terms of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

This was Ingram’s 10th annual Healthcare Industry Outlook, and a lively engagement it proved to be. Sponsoring the assembly were Blue Cross Blue Shield of Greater Kansas City, which needs no introduction, and Holmes Murphy & Associates, a premier independent risk-management and insurance brokerage firm. Ably chairing the event were Tricia Nguyen, chief medical officer for Blue Cross, and the insurance company’s senior vice president Brian Burns, as well as Jeff Spencer of Holmes Murphy.
