Local Leaders Tackle National Healthcare IssuesThe June Healthcare Industry Outlook had the emotional feel of a stormy day on Wall Street: a down opening, followed by a late afternoon surge. In attendance at Ingram’s Freight House office were more than a dozen industry leaders representing a broad spectrum of industry subsets. Skillfully chairing the assembly was Bill Bruning, president of the Mid-America Coalition on HealthCare. In an effort to keep Ingram’s readers aware of the challenges in the healthcare arena, and the opportunities that come in a presidential election year, the participants were initially asked whether they anticipated any major healthcare reform following the election and, if so, what reforms ought to be included. Their answers were instructive.
